AS A CIVILIAN SECURITY DIRECTOR, IT WAS MOST VALUABLE TO HAVE AN IN DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THE LE/FIRE/EMS RESPONSE TO AN ACTIVE SHOOTER/MASS EVENT AT A SITE SIMILAR TO MY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (COLUMBUS ZOO).

Which part(s) of the course was LEAST valuable to you? Please explain why.

BECAUSE I AM A CIVILIAN, I WAS NOT ASSIGNED A UNIT NUMBER AND WAS NOT ABLE TO BE UTILIZED IN THE SYSTEM AS A RESOURCE. TO THAT END, I PARTICIPATED IN AREAS WHERE A SCRIBE WAS NEEDED AND ASSISTED RESPONDING LE OR EMS TEAMS WITH RADIO COMMUNICATIONS. THESE ELEMENTS MADE ME USEFUL AND GAVE ME THE ABILITY TO OBSERVE THE SCENARIOS FROM A WIDE SCOPE.

Intelligence and Immidiate response by first responders, materials I can share with my company to enhance operational planning and incident response. In addition to help with providing accurate training materials.

I am neither a officer nor a fire fighter, but the knowledge gathered for me was that in case of an active situation, the only enemy is not the perpetrator, its father time.

My first and it was a great class, while I am just an elected official, it was very instructive to me, lallowed me to see in a controlled environment what our first responders endure.
