Previously, radio calls required the full use of the assignment name, e.g. &#8220;&#8221;<abbr data-toggle=\"tooltip\" data-placement=\"bottom\" title=\"[Active Shooter] See Move-to-Contact Team\">Contact Team<\/abbr> 1 to Contact Group.&#8221; Confusion of who was calling whom was observed when multiple Contact Teams were deployed. The terminology change allows the same radio call to be shortened and improve clarity, e.g. &#8220;Contact 1 to Tactical.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another small but important change was shifting the clearance of the <abbr data-toggle=\"tooltip\" data-placement=\"bottom\" title=\"[Active Shooter] (RTF) A mixed discipline ad-hoc unit with a security element, a medical element, and a team leader who operate in the Warm Zone to triage patients, provide Indirect Threat Care, and coordinate casualty evacuation to an Ambulance Exchange Point. The unit is typically comprised of two (2) law enforcement officers and two (2) EMS personnel, however staffing may vary based on incident need and local policy. Typically one law enforcement officer serves on point and the other rear guard, escorting the EMS personnel and providing security.&#13;&#10;\">Rescue Task Force<\/abbr>(s) into the <abbr data-toggle=\"tooltip\" data-placement=\"bottom\" title=\"[Active Shooter] A perimeter containing the Warm and Hot Zones. &#13;&#10;\">Inner Perimeter<\/abbr> from Law Enforcement Branch to the Tactical Group supervisor. It was observed that the decision to allow entry of the Rescue Task Force(s) was being delegated to the Tactical Group supervisor (formerly Contact Group supervisor) by Law Enforcement Branch in most cases. Having the Rescue Task Force(s) communicate through the LE Branch (or Command) just delayed the deployment.
